This is a compensations
album. David Readman and his special voice ran off the band,
and now Brazilian Gustavo Monsanto has replaced them, with a
less special way to sing, but with more vocal variety, higher
tones, and sometimes with more rage in his broken vocals.
This new voice has brought a lot of possibilities to Adagio.
Their first album was great but a little too slow, and now they
bring us a powerful hard neoclassic progressive metal album,
with some chorus reaching high quotes of screaming voices, sounding
like black or death (listen the track called "Dominate").
They have also compensated not having any one famous on the
keyboards (like Vitalij Kuprij or Richard Andersson in their
previous albums) with stronger guitars and second voices.
This album has compensated the losses with new possibilities,
taking advantage of everything new. Its strength is a great
surprise, although we already noticed it in their live shows,
stronger than studio tracks. And the new singer Gustavo Monsanto
competes in quality and protagonism with the dresses and guitars
of Stéphan.
