After Forever
Títle Exordium (2003) -EP-
Label Transmission Records / Goimusic

The Dutch band After Forever can be counted among those that do not let their fans waiting for long. They are perfectly aware of their musical quality and each of their records is treated very delicately, dedicating to it as much time as required to improve whatever they believe can be improved from one record to the next. In 2000, they released their debut "Prison of Desire" and the following year their to date latest release "Decipher". Their next album is expected for 2004, and in the meanwhile, they have released the single "Decipher", and now this six-track EP called "Exordium".

Despite this being a mini cd, the release has a great level. Starting with the intro they use in their live shows, the two covers, one of Iron Maiden's "The Evil That Men Do" (sooner or later, they had to record it) and Randy Crawford's "One Day I'll Fly Away" (another track from the 80's), going through the ballad "My Choice" (of all the tracks on the cd, the one that sounds like After Forever the most), the magnificent "Beneath" and the sensational and more powerful song of the cd, "Glorifying Means", where we have one of those guttural-masculine-voice versus soprano-feminine-voice duos.

This makes us even more anxious for Santa Claus' visit, basically so that he can leave as soon as possible and open the way for the new year and third album of After Forever.
